We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our product development team. The candidate will be responsible for developing interactive reporting applications using Qlik Sense or Qlik enterprise platforms, with a particular focus on data visualization requirements and the creation and organization of data models using relational databases. The role will involve supporting reporting and business intelligence needs for network and service performance management in the telecom industry.

This is an open position to integrate our client into one of the product development teams of the OSS Assurance division.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

As a key member of the Performance Management development team, you will be responsible for:

• Expanding and enhancing reporting applications by delivering new features, dashboards, and modules that improve existing tools or enable new analytical capabilities in the assurance domain.

• Designing and implementing efficient data models using relational databases tailored to telecom network and service performance monitoring needs.

• Proactively proposing new analyses and visual features, based on customer feedback or product roadmap, that deliver actionable insights through interactive applications and dashboards.

• Optimizing data visualizations to ensure high performance, responsiveness, and a seamless user experience across different use cases and platforms.

• Documenting solutions end-to-end, including data sources, transformation logic, and visualization strategies, ensuring transparency and ease of

collaboration.

• Keeping abreast of technology trends in data engineering and visualization, integrating relevant innovations into the solution stack where appropriate.

• Supporting global project teams by delivering training, guidance, and documentation that enable efficient deployment and customization of reporting apps in customer-specific environments.

Essential Skills:

• Genuine passion for analytics and business intelligence, with a curiosity driven mindset.

• Solid understanding of data visualization best practices, including how to effectively use charts, graphs, and visual design to communicate insights clearly and impactfully.

• Experience with data preparation and transformation workflows, including ETL processes and data cleansing techniques.

• Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Qlik Sense, Tableau or Power BI.

• Strong proficiency in relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), with solid data modeling skills to design efficient and scalable schemas.

• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a structured approach to debugging and performance optimization.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics roles.

• Good command of programming and scripting languages, ideally with experience in automation or custom data processing (e.g., Python, SQL, or Shell scripting).

Optional Skills:

• Experience with telecommunications data (e.g., OSS/BSS systems, KPIs, network counters, alarms, etc).

• Familiarity with Qlik scripting (QLIK Script Language) and advanced app optimization techniques.

• Exposure to Kafka or other streaming data platforms.

• Experience working with Parquet, ORC or other columnar file formats for large-scale data analytics.

• Exposure to Grafana, Prometheus, Loki or other observability/monitoring stacks.
